It was a crazy weekend for the House of Zed. After the 5v5 tournament on Saturday, they had an early game match (8am HST) against Die Pornorallen on Sunday. After defeating dP 2-0 in the CAL-M preseason matchup (a rematch of their CAL-O first round playoff game), ZED quickly headed down to PCGAMERZ internet cafe to participate in a 3v3 DotA tournament. Although the turnout was small, ZED still had fun and took 1st overall. A good weekend for ZED.

Five local teams took part in the "Hawaii DotA 5v5 Battle Royale", held at Netwerx cafe in Honolulu, Hawaii. After squeezing out a victory as Sentinal in a lengthy match against OoI, XD (the old HDL) was up next. Zed won the flip, picked scourge, and rolled to victory. It was a close match, but once Zed established map control and started to dictate the tempo, XD had to play catchup for the rest of the game. Some exciting DotA today by all clans involved, it was fun.

caleague.com - The new CAL divisions were released today. DotA has seen a rapid growth in participation and popularity. In an attempt to keep things more competitive and fresh, CAL introduced a new divsion structure: Invite, Main, Intermediate-Main, and Open. The House of Zed was placed in CAL-Main, along with 11 other teams. Most of the top clans from season 2's main division moved up to Invite.

We are currently looking for 2 more players from the west coast to join our competitive roster. Interested applicants may visit our forums and post in the recuritment forums.

CAL announced today that it’s next season will feature 4 divisions dedicated to DotA in the states and 1 (or 2 depending on the signups) dedicated to the European DotA community.

This news post comes a little late but I wanted to test out the posting function of this site, while providing some useful information!  Icefrog has released DotA Allstars v6.35b to the public.  The new version brings to it a lot of balance changes and asthetic tweaks.  Icefrog did not add a couple of the much anticipated new content, such as two new items that are being heavily discussed on Dota-allstars.com.  But at least we have something to look forward to!
